It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of H.E. Emilio Mwai Kibaki, the Third President of the Republic Kenya on 22 April, 2022. He lived a distinguished life dedicated to Public Service.

He will be remembered for his leadership qualities and great contribution to nation building. The Embassy wishes to join the rest of Kenyans and friends of Kenya in mourning the passing of a true African Statesman.

With an unshakable faith in the values of our country and the character of our people, HE. Mwai Kibaki renewed Kenya’s confidence and restored our Nation. His optimism, strength, and humility epitomized the Kenyan spirit.

The Embassy has opened a condolence book at the Chancery to honour his legacy from Tuesday 26 – Wednesday 27 from 1000 hrs – 1400 hrs. E-messages of condolence can be sent to addisababa@mfa.go.ke
