AU PSC visits the Kingdom of Lesotho for an Induction Retreat

The African Union Peace and Security Council (AU PSC) is in Maseru, Kingdom of Lesotho for an induction retreat for the incoming recently elected PSC members. The new council will take over on 1st April. Kenya has served two terms totaling six years on the council.

The retreat provided an opportunity for outgoing and incoming council Members to consult, share experiences and draw lessons learned that will enrich the work of the PSC. Amb Catherine Mwangi attended the retreat as a facilitator and resource person. Her contribution to the PSC during her tenure as Kenyas Permanent Representative to the AU was acknowledged and celebrated.

It was noted that Amb Catherine Mwangi played an important role in supporting the capacity building of the PSC through her leadership and service. Kenya received a certificate of Appreciation from Ambassador Bankole, AU Commissioner for Political Affairs Peace and Security. Through her membership to the council Kenya set a high bar of professional dedicated and committed services on the PSC. We look forward to returning to the council in two years time.
