Mission hosts 3 High Level Government Delegation at Kenya House

Her Excellency, Ambassador (Dr) Monica Juma, and the staff of the Addis Ababa Mission, hosted three high level government delegations to a luncheon at Kenya House on Tuesday, 17th January 2012.  Each of the three delegations were on a different mission, relating to the African Union.

The first delegation, led by Honourable Kenneth Marende Otiato, the Speaker of the National Assembly of Kenya included Hon. Gitobu Imanyara, M.P, Hon Gideon M.Mungaro, M.P, Hon Abdul Bahari, M.P, and Hon Nkoibilia Lankas and other senior government officials was attending the Sixth Ordinary Session of the Second Parliament of Pan African Parliament which convened between 16 and 20 January 2012.

 

 

 

Honourable Marende was a special guest who delivered a statement of solidarity with the PAP during the opening session. For the full statement by the speaker to the PAP, refer under the Resources tab.

The Second delegation was led by Honourable Moses Wetangula, Minister for foreign Affairs and included Ambassador Michael Oyugi, Director for Africa and AU Directorate at the Ministry headquarters.

This delegation was in Addis Ababa to deliver a special message from His Excellency Mwai Kibaki, the President of the Republic of Kenya to H.E Meles Zenawi, the Prime Minister of Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.

Third delegation, led by Honourable Dalmas Otieno Anyango, Minister of State for Public Service and current Chairperson of the 7th Conference of African Ministers of Public Service, was in Addis Ababa to brief the African Union High Level Panel on Sudan, on the current energy crisis between Sudan and South Sudan.
