H.E Amb Dr. Monica Juma led the Embassy in hosting the “Friends of Kenya” to a working breakfast at the Hilton Addis Ababa on 25th January 2012, to present and lobby support for the candidature of Mr. Erastus Mwencha for re-election to the position of the Deputy Chair of the African Union Commission.

“The Friends of Kenya” group comprises of 25 Ambassadors, of whom 21 are African, accredited to Kenya on non residence basis. On his part, Mr. Mwencha put forth and explained vision and his 10-point agenda for the next four years, if re-elected.

All participants paid glowing tribute to Mr. Erastus Mwencha for his exemplary work and achievements in the past four years especially in the introduction of prudent financial management, result based management as well as focused programming of the activities of the AU Commission; and promised to fully support his candidature.
