Breakfast with the Prime Minister

Her Excellency Ambassador Dr. Monica K. Juma, today hosted Rt Hon Raila Amolo Odinga, his spouse Ida Odinga and members of his delegation, to a breakfast at the Sheraton Hotel in Addis Ababa. The Prime Minster was enroute returning home from an official visit to Israel.

In welcoming the Prime Minister, the ambassador Dr. Monica K. Juma introduced the “magical team” behind the operations at the Embassy. Noting the uniqueness of the mission, she explained that Addis Ababa was accredited to Ethiopia and Djibouti, as well as a large number of international organizations working out of Addis Ababa. The embassy also services some 25 Ambassadors that are accredited to Kenya on a non-resident basis. Besides being a bilateral station, Addis Ababa is also a multilateral mission accredited to IGAD, AU, UNECA and the recently created United Nations Office to the African Union. On the whole, the mission receives an average of 3 official delegations per week and between 6-10 ministerial delegations per month from across all government.
